Re-thatching Experts

When rethatching your property we replace all the eaves with new ones rather than thatching over the top. This reduces the weight and strain on your cottage as well as creating a better look from beneath. If required we are able to tackle minor timber works ourselves whether replacing or modifying. We are also able to arrange for major timber work to be undertaken if needed. We always ensure one coat is stripped and replaced. We don’t thatch over the top of the existing reed as this adds a considerable amount of weight which could damage your property, especially if it is a listed building and of age. Once thatched with a ridge in your choice of style, we then net the entire cottage (on all materials including water reed) to help prevent rodent and bird damage. We always complete with a final tidy of the property to leave you to admire your new roof.
